Here at Chequer Accounting we specialise in providing accounting and taxation services to small businesses.

The Service

We have extensive experience in providing taxation and accounting services to small business, in all forms: Sole Traders, Partnerships, Companies, Discretionary Trusts and Unit Trusts.

Whether you are just starting out in business or have been around for decades, we are happy to help and can provide you with a range of services, such as:

  • Preparation of Tax Returns;
  • Preparations of Financial Statements;
  • Preparation of Activity Statements (Business and Instalment);
  • Preparations of FBT Returns;
  • Corporate Secretary Services; and
  • Tax Planning including Trust Distributions Resolutions and Capital Gains Calculations

We also offer our More Than Just Bookkeeping service and our Management Accounting services to help you get the most out of your business.

The Cost

We believe in transparency and honesty so only charge you for the time taken to complete our work. We charge $220 an hour, billed in 15 minutes blocks.

For some of our services, standard fees are available based on the average time taken to complete the task. Our general fees are listed below:

  • Preparation of Instalment & Business Activity Statements $220 (based on an accounting file data that is up-to-date)
  • Corporate Secretary Services Annual Company Statement review and minutes fee $110.
  • Corporate Secretary Services Form 484 fee $55
  • Trust Distributions Resolutions Drafting $110

We can provide a fee estimate range before starting work if requested, and we aim to meet these fee ranges. Sometimes though, things come up and the work required is significantly more than expected, when this happens, we will communicate with you and advise the additional fees expected.

Exciting News, we will be at Shop 9, Gatton Plaza (114 Spencer Street) this July and August 2022 to help assist you with your Accounting and Taxation needs this Tax Season.

Don’t worry if you miss us this July and August, we can also book in an Online Meeting through Microsoft Teams (all year round) or an In-Person meeting at your place (20km distance limit from Gatton CBD applies) (available again from September 2022).

More Information About The Service

Special Purpose Financial Statements

When possible, we use your Accounting Software to produce your Financial Statements. This means you aren’t paying us extra to retype all the data in your file and then extra again to reconcile your Accounting Software back to our ledger. We will need adviser/accountant level access to your accounting software so we can complete our reconciliations and journals straight into your software. Once we are done we will lock the year so it can be viewed but not edited and generate our Special Purpose Financial Statements.

No accounting software? No problem! We have our own and can still make your Special Purpose Financial Statements.

Document Signature

It is our policy to securely email all documents for review and signature digitally through Hellosign. This provides a range of benefits, including that:

  • You’ll receive your documents as soon as they are ready (without having to wait weeks for them to arrive in the mail);
  • Your documents are sent securely, so you know your private information is safe; and
  • It’s more environmentally friendly!

If you still need a paper copy if your documentation sent to you for any reason we can organise this. We charge a $22 administration fee for all posted items.
